Our origin: From cooperage to design furniture
The family story takes its roots in Upper Anjou, in the wooded and apple tree region. Every farm was producing its own cider and on the banks of the Drugeot river, the Rochepeau family was making barrels for storing the cider.
In 1976, Jean Louis Rochepeau opened a woodcraft workshop, making furniture and objects in solid wood: the Drugeot boutique. Supported by a team of wood maker companions, he gradually developed a range of high-end furniture distributed by French merchants.
In 2000, Matthieu and Pierre Rochepeau took over the family business to maintain this woodwork passion alive.
In 2009, the Drugeot Labo brand was launched, combining this traditional know-how and an eminently contemporary, quirky and creative design: “What is original needs to be functional, what is beautiful needs to be useful”. The company is “experimenting” and completely reinventing its distribution network and its range.
In 2018, the brand is part of the new wave of French editors. Now renowned for the audacious creativity of its designers and the quality of its production, Drugeot Labo became Drugeot Manufacture.
100% French Manufacturing: proximity and made-to-measure
In the workshops, manual work mixes with computer numerical control machining: compliance with traditional manufacturing and modernity are complementary.
The proximity of the production enables to provide made-to-measure and customised furniture.
The production is semi-industrialised in order to control costs, quality and lead time.
90% of our suppliers are located in our region, the Pays de la Loire: sawyers, wood turners, wood benders, suppliers of hardware, of finishing.
Solid wood: a wholesome and natural material
We use solid wood from French forests exclusively: oak, ash and beech. The wood offcuts are recycled to heat the workshops as well as the oven of an organic baker. The wood shavings are used by an organic poultry farm for the litter of the chicken.
From Anjou Bleu to Hong-Kong
The Drugeot Manufacture designs are distributed through a network of partners in France and Europe (Holland, Belgium, Germany, Spain, Switzerland, United Kingdom) but also in Mexico, Australia and Hong-Kong.
